Week 4


Week 4-

I have imported the grab interface that I used from last year as this made sense to be the first step.

I made a door in Maya so that I could have complete control over the design and position of the handle, however I was experiencing issues importing it into Unreal Engine and realised that I would also need to texture the door if I wanted it to look normal so I decided to use the existing door model in Unreal Engine to save time.

My initial approach was to make a sliding door however I have decided that I would rather have my door rotate along the z axis as this seems more natural to me and will increase the users immersion. Initially I was slightly worried that the height of the door handle might be unreachable for some people however the project should automatically scale when the user puts on a VR headset.
